      I ordered several of these sets back in May. The chairs came in perfect condition and they were sturdy and very comfortable. They are large and the cushions were thick and appear very weather proof. BUT...nearly all the table tops arrived damaged. In one spot along the edge of the table tops, not only was the protective paint chipping but it appeared as though they had been tossed around and someone took a hammer to the side...large indents and chunks of the lacquer falling off. I was very disappointed but I called customer service and expected them to simply send me replacement tops. Evidently, after sending images and after several hours of back and forth I found out that Hampton Bay was unable to send just the tops of the table. Instead, I had to purchase all new complete sets, pick the table tops out myself and then send back the damaged ones. While extremely inconvenient, it seemed to be my only option. I put out another $1600 for 8 new sets (which would be refunded after I returned the 8 sets after I took the table tops)...BUT those 8 table tops were ALL damaged as well! As one other reviewer stated, they do rust easily so any small crack will leak rust after it's exposed to the elements. So, even the slightest damage was unacceptable and calling customer service is a pain, because every time I have to call to 'complain', I have to re-explain the entire situation and wait on hold while the rep reviews all the every time I called I was on hold and back and forth for over 40 minutes. Nevertheless, I package back up all 8 sets and expect a pickup (which was also an issue but I won't go into that) and then put out ANOTHER $1600 to order ANOTHER 8 sets and this time the rep tells me they will put in extra packing. At this point I would have thought Hampton bay would have tried to remedy the situation by shipping me 8 inspected and in perfect condition table tops...but no. I place this third order with my fingers crossed that the ordeal would now be over but then...5 days after I place the order I receive an email that states 'your order is in process but the item is no longer in stock'...what?! So, after two months of being fairly calm I call customer service at 8:30am and angrily told him to fix the situation (but since it's a new rep he has no idea how time consuming and frustrating this situation has been) so he tells me to calm down and he will have someone get in touch with me within 5 days. I told him that was unacceptable and I needed the issue resolved immediately. That was 5 days ago and I have yet to receive a follow-up. Needless to say we won't be ordering Hampton Bay products anymore. The product had the potential to be great but customers need to be confident that if there is an issue, the manufacturer will do everything it can to fix the problem. Unfortunately, they did not. (I've provided a few images)
