I removed my toilet to bowl bolt using a hacksaw blade between the tank and bowl because it was rusted out. The Everbilt replacement bolt is made of galvanized steel, not brass. Therefore, the bolts may rust out again it there is a water leak. I would rather pay more for a replacement kit that have brass bolts. To help prevent the bolts from rusting out again, I used plumber's grease on the bolts. What helpful with this four rubber gaskets, flat washers and nuts kit, it allowed me to install and tighten the tank's bolts, rubber gaskets, flat washers and nuts before installing the tank on the bowl. Then using the flat washers and nuts to connect the tank to bowl. Hopefully, with this design, the water will not leak. My toilet is only (3 years old), and the initial tank to bowl kit came with only 2 rubber gaskets, flat washers, and nuts. There seems to be a confusion on how to use this kit because the instruction is not clear. According to a retired plumber and a Home Depot associate, this is how to use the kit: 2 bolts, rubber washers, and install in the upper tank. Then under the tank install the rubber washers, metal washers, and tighten the nuts. Install the tank to bowl, then install the metal washers, and tighten the nuts.
