A:  Hi Carmen, depending on your location, your local Home Depot should offer to purchase by the linear foot!

A:  Other, useful, answers indicate the max length of a stick is 16 feet. To get 20 feet, you will have to splice two sticks.

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Ash, the short answer to your question is yes you can. The long answer is that while you can use a miter box and hand saw, it will take a lot of effort and precision to get the cut right. Please be patient and try practicing on scrap wood before cutting your handrail. That way, you can get the feel for the project and what it entails. If you have additional questions, we'll reply as quickly as we can. Thank you.

                Affordable quality
Bought this product as an alternative to Oak which would've been a bit darker than I had wanted. Some light sanding got the wood ready for finishing (no stain on this project). Took finish well (high gloss poly). Three coats was all it took to get it where I wanted it. The product was easy to work with, was less expensive than the Oak, and finished beautifully. No complaints.

In remodeling a part of our home, we decided to redo the stairway railing. I was so happy to find something more affordable than oak, and, at The Home Depot, you can buy it by the foot and the cut it to length for you! Menard's only offered railing in oak and maybe other expensive varieties, and then you had to buy it in a pre-packaged length. Thank you HD, it was a pleasure!
