Answer This Question
A: Hi Rick! This blade will work for aluminum channel, however, we would recommend DS0910CF. It is important to control speed and use some type of lubrication to avoid galling. To check it out, just search homedepot.com for Product #DS0910CF.

Q:Would this blade work to make fine cuts on larger logs (for woodworking)?

Answer This Question
A: Hi John! I would suggest using a general purpose blade as the 10tpi may be too fine, be very slow, or generate excess head in green lumber.

A: Poster Dbbb.
Length of the blade is not the problem. I have used blades of this length but with fewer tpi. They don't make a smooth cut. A circular saw is not going to cut an 8 or 10 inch log and neither will most band saws. Anything else?

A: Absolutely not. You cant control this long of a blade.
Youd need a large bandsaw or circular saw

Q:will this blade cut through dried thin set mortar

Answer This Question
A: Yes, although the teeth are large so they will leave a rough cut. I would try a finer tooth blade first or "test drive" this blade somewhere it won't make a difference.

A: This blade is not intended to cut through thin set mortar as it is a thick metal cutting blade. However, the carbide teeth should last longer than bi-metal reciprocating saw blades in that material. Additionally, we carry a diamond grit blade for masonry cutting. To check it out, just search homedepot.com for Product #DS0930DGX.

A: I would have to assume so. If it can eat through a cast iron stove - true story - it can probably handle mortar just fine.

Absolutely amazing
Recently had to cut 4” cast iron two times to cut a pvc tee in. The blade absolutes had no trouble making both of the cuts and still is not dull in any way. Highly recommend these blades.

I purchased this blade to cut through a 1.5" galvanized drain pipe to shorten it due to switching to a deeper sink. Plumber's quote to do the work was too high for the work needed (IMO). The blade easily cut the pipe and left a smooth cut. Between the blade, coupler and PVC, I was able to complete the job at about 3% of the quoted cost.
I bought an extra to keep around.

Expectations exceeded! Awesome blade and works as advertised (better, technically). I used these blades to cut off a cast iron pipe sticking out of the concrete floor in my basement. The knuckle joining a fitting to the pipe was right at the floor level, so I was basically cutting through double the thickness; over an inch of cast iron. I was a little worried these blades would do the job, and thought I might have to rent a band type pipe cutter. But the Steel Demon got the job done! It was a burly 20-30 minutes of cutting. As you can imagine, the toughest part was getting the cut started (sawing at a tangent to the pipe surface). I bought the 3 pack, and switched blades periodically to keep the heat down. Not sure I had to do that. But figured it was a good precaution against burning through the blades. By the end of the task, the blades don't show much wear, so can do plenty more. This was above and beyond the metal thickness specified by Diablo (up to 9/16") but the blades handled it with no problems. I also used this blade to cut a small corner (about 1/4-inch) of a steel beam that was sticking past the concrete (not supporting any load at that point) and out of the drywall (don't ask - past owner/builder of my home made some really questionable choices). The Steel Demon cut through it like a regular Sawzall blade through a piece of wood! The manufacturer video included in the product photos look pretty unreal, cutting through thick steel like it was butter (that cliché may be overused - but it applies here!). There is no tricks here. The Steel Demon really does cut through metal that fast, no joke! I would highly recommend this blade for your heavy duty steel cutting needs.

Far exceeded my expectations! I had 28 concrete nails to cut from a sill plate. I tried the Milwaukee torch brand 1st as it was cheaper, but that blade crapped out after 1 nail. The Diablo cut the nails like a hot knife thru butter! 1 blade made it thru 20 nails and would have made it thru the rest had it not broke at the base the teeth still looked good.
i have some 5/8 rebar that I was cutting for a project. tried several other blades because they were cheaper and were supposed to be for cutting heavy/thick metal. i made 3 cuts with 2 of the other blades and the teeth were completely gone. i made 6 cuts with the 6" diablo ( did not need the 9") and there is still teeth left. but, it was starting to dull a bit. 6 CUTS WITH 1 BLADE THOUGH vs 3 CUTS WITH THE OTHER 2. worth the money....get it, trust me. if you have a project that requires cutting hard stuff. get the diablo blades, you wont be disappointed.
I needed to cut a 2in cast iron drain pipe. After attempting to use the Milwaukee Torch double duty blades with no luck. I tried to use my Makita angle grinder with metal cut off disc, which could have worked but was a little uneven and messy. Did some research and decided to purchase this blade. One is the best buys I ever made! This thing works fast. pipe was cut in less than a minute. Nice, even, and clean!
