Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. On Danco 4Z-24H/C (10472), to change the handle from 3 o'clock closed, 12 o'clock open to 9 o'clock closed, 6 o’clock open you should install the handle at the 9 o’clock position when the stem is closed. If you need more help or clarification, please contact Danco Technical Support at Danco.Support@nch.com.

A:  You need to remove the wire clip on one of them, raise up the silver colored cam and turn it so it is against the opposite stop from where it was. Replace the wire clip and reassemble. This will change it so it will work properly.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. The following will reverse the handle for you. Remove the clip from the stem, lift the handle stop up and rotate it to the other bumper without rotating the stem itself, and lower the stop and replace the clip,

A:  Majority of the times the screw will be inside the faucet itself, unless someone completely removed it. You can match it in Home depot by asking the people there. If not found, try Ace Hardware. Best of luckk

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. This stem is equipped to fit all Danco Universal Handles. Below is a link for handles screws that will fit American standard handles. There are 2 different sizes included for you to choose from depending on your existing handle. The second link for handle screws includes 5 different screws for a broader choice. If you are replacing your old handles with new Danco universal handles, then the screws will be included in the kit. A:  Home Depot. If there is no one in the plumbing aisles ask the front desk to page someone, they will locate the screws for you.

A:  Under the handle. You need a small allen wrench.

A:  I bought at location store. It matched old one. Easy replacement on this, but I have to turn 90 degree to make the right.

Don't buy these get the OEM parts instead. Replaced both the hot and the cold sides with these Danco parts 8 months ago after one of the original AS parts started to drip. HD was out of the AS brand so I got these. Now the hot side, over the span of a week, has completely failed. HD carries the AS brand and they're the same price. I don't know why I bought these yet again except I guess I was annoyed and wasn't thinking. Our house was purchased in 2005 so the AS parts were at least that old. American Standard 994053-0070A is the part number. These are set for the hot side but how do you use them on the cold side then? Remove the clip and the grey metal ring. You'll notice the ring is square inside and matches the brass stem. Move the ring two points over on the stem, you'll twist the stem to do this, and now your cold side will work as expected. You can also install the unit in the faucet and play with it until it lines up the way you want.

This part was very simple to replace except for one issue. If I was only replacing the HOT side I would of been done in less than 2 minutes, but I was replacing the COLD side and this comes PRESET for the HOT side and therefore when I first installed it the way it came, it was turning on and off in reverse of what it was supposed to do. After I finally found out what to do it was PERFECT. Here's what you need to do if you are replacing the "COLD" stem. at the base of the Chrome stem, there's a Copper Retaining Clip that you remove, then lift up on the flat Chrome-like flat ring and turn it to the opposite end from where it was. Reset the Copper Retaining Clip, then return the complete Stem into the Faucet and put your handle back on. All Done! See Attached Photo of the Copper Retaining Clip and the Chrome-like flat ring. I was going berserk trying to get this information from the Manufacturer's website with NO RESULTS. I hope this was helpful.

                Use the Factory A.S. part
The valve leaked right out of the box. The faucet would drip when turned off, and only way to fix it would have been to modify it somehow. Got the factory A.S. valve instead, which is actually cheaper, and it worked right out of the box. These aftermarket valves simply aren't worth the hassle.
