A:  No, the laser cross line is not magnetic.

A:  Thank you for your question. The GCL25 comes with the BM1 positioning device which has multimounting systems-strong magnets, 5/8"-11 and 1/4"-20 thread, slots for screws or nails, raceways or optional straps.

Better than some that cost more
The light level is a bit low. Therefore I can only give this laser level a 4 star. Otherwise it is a better unit than anything I could find in store, "they lack the features needed to do a job right". In a laser level you need spot points up, down forward and at right angles. Not just horizontal, vertical. This is the most economical laser level that does it all. It comes with great accessories too but "the battery holder is useless" so keep them in the soft case. As a tradesman I knew what to look for in a laser level for features and for the buck this is my # 1 pick.

        handy Lazer
I bought two of these lasers. I like the idea of having both the point Lazer and cross hair Lazer all in one. It does a good job, however I do wish that the tolerances were a little tighter on the moving parts of the Lazer. It seems a little easy to move it if someone bumps it list a little. In all, I feel it is a very good Lazer for the money.

Great product. Since it has most features...it would be nice to top it off with a strong magnet.

Very happy to have purchased this Bosch product. If you are still doing the 3-4-5 method to square a wall or sick of waiting for your plumb bob to stops swaying or if you are like me, getting a little older and have no patience anymore, this laser is for you. Laying out new interior walls, bottom and top plates takes seconds to layout. Worth every penny in time you save. Buy it, you can thank me later...

My entire purchase experience was a nightmare. I bought this product during a promotional period. With the promotion I was to receive a mounting bracket and a hard case. I was sent the laser level with only a soft case and not a bracket. I was advised that Bosch would not mail me the additional pieces. I was instructed to return the tool and purchase the item again to receive the promotional accessories. The product came in the mail for a SECOND time without the promotional items. I contacted Home Depot and explained the situation. At this point, Home Depot had to consult with Bosch. Bosch refused to honor their promotional deal. Home Depot gave me a credit in an attempt to make the transaction right. The tool performs as it is intended, but BOSCH lacked the professionalism that one would expect from an established company.

        Great Laser Level
I actually prefer this model over more expensive versions for what I do. It is less bulky and still gets the job done. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Niche tool offering good time savings
Ease of Use: As a DIY-er, I'm not an expert in these types of tools so out of the box I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of features of the tool, but given an in-progress bathroom remodel requiring quite a bit of new drywall, I hunkered down with the instruction manual. Instructions are very clear and straightforward and explain everything in great detail. Pros: - Easy to use and good instructions mean this is accessible for an average diyer and a professional - Extremely helpful for hanging shelves and drywall and saves a TON of time vs. measuring manually Cons: - I wish it came with a stand or tripod. (These can easily be purchased separately, but would really add to the usefulness of the tool). - Other reviewers have also noted the lack of wall mount, I would have also appreciated this feature.

        Excellent 5-Point Laser
This laser operates with 4 AA batteries. It has the option of connecting to a camera 1/4" tripod or the larger 5/8" commercial tripod. There are four different operating modes. You can have just the vertical line that faces forward or just the horizontal line facing forward. You can use the cross point option where the horizontal and vertical lines face forward and to the sides as well as upward and downward. In the 5-point setting it gives you a vertical point beam each facing upward and downward and the horizontal point beam facing forward and to the sides (like for lining up wall tiles around the room). It has an auto shut-off setting but you can deactivate it if necessary. The directions are really clear about how to use the self-leveling feature or manual leveling. It also comes with a laser target that reflects the beam stronger if necessary in certain conditions. When the battery low light comes on, you have about one more hour left. You will get about 30 hours of battery life in the line operation mode and 12 hours in the cross and point line mode. The size is handy as it is about 6"x4.5". There are pictures that are helpful to set it up for use on the floor and upward for beam placement as well as on a diagonal (like for stair rails). This is an excellent laser to have in your toolbox. I highly recommend it.
