    • Description

Our exclusive Heinz Super Roma Tomato plant offers all the benefits of meaty Roma fruits with one additional benefit: these tomatoes have a bright crimson flesh that contains lycopene, a healthful antioxidant. Use these nutrition-rich fruits for making sauces, slow-roasting, grilling, or canning. Plants thrive in many regions, from dry desert to high humidity and adapt well to growing in large containers. Fruits keep well on the vines and are very crack resistant. Though vines are 3 ft. to 4 ft., stake plants for the best support and easy harvesting. Plant arrives in a biodegradable pot with a well-established root system and hardened off for easy transplanting in the garden.

I found the same to be true as the previous reviewer. They are not very disease resistant. Mine were very susceptible to blossom end rot and I lost many when green or just turning red. The plants themselves did well and I got lots of green tomatoes. My other tomatoes (not Roma) did fine growing right next to these. Maybe they require some special care or fertilizer, idk. I'd say i lost more than half to rot. Those that did make it were nice and big and meaty. They are bigger than average Roma’s. It's a shame, because they are very nice tomatoes when they make it. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please post. I grew them over the summer of 2016 here in Maryland (Washington D.C area). In my opinion the growing conditions were very good this summer. I did apply Serenade to keep the leaf spot away and it worked pretty well for all my tomatoes. I tried balance fertilizers and ones with higher phosphate. I also kept the weeds down well with cardboard covered with grass clippings.
