- Use BEHR ULTRA Paint as a primer for repaired or uncoated surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (two primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas. Lock in stains with the first primer coat; if necessary, apply a second primer coat of BEHR ULTRA Paint
- Apply product on dry substrates when air and surface temperatures are between 35°-90°F (2°-32°C) and will remain between 35°-90°F (2°-32°C) for at least 4 hours after applying

Fantastic Paint/Primer
I’ve always used Dunn Edwards paint but wanted to see if Consumer Reports was right about this paint. I was not disappointed. I put two coats of Behr Ultra, semi gloss, swiss coffee on bare wood, leaving an hour between for the first coat to dry. Fantastic finish. Very impressed.

Excellent paint! Excellent coverage!
Behr paint was outstanding. We had to use only one gallon instead of the amount the painter had originally calculated b/c this paint covered so well and so thoroughly. Looks great!

Almost made painting enjoyable!
Love this paint- I did the whole stucco base of my house in 2 days. It glides on like chiffon.

Actually a paint AND a primer
Great quality, much thicker than other paints. Avoid going over it too much and glide it on in a few strokes for best texture. I could've used a separate primer for this job, since the door was dark gray. But this paint totally covered in two coats, is holding up well, and very resistant to staining. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. I love the bold color so much, I think I’m going to paint my back door with it, too. This is the only exterior paint I’ll be buying in the future.

The Behr Ultra paint covered flowed and covered very well...
The Behr Ultra paint covered flowed and covered very well leaving a very nice sheen. I used it to paint exterior wood siding on my home in southern AZ where the summer sun is brutal on just about everything. Can’t say how long it will stay like that as I painted it just 5 months ago.

Repainting shutters
Bought to change color and refresh shutters. Used the Behr Ultra paint in a Wagner Flexio 3500 sprayer. I thinned the paint some and couldn't have been more satisfied with how it covered the shutters. I applied two coats and thd finish when done was a nuce rich finish. It had a very nice shine. Really makes tge house stand out.

A Great Paint For Outdoor Furniture and Decor
Purchased Semi-Gloss to paint Bee Hive Equipment knowing it will be exposed to all weather conditions. Overall, I'm pleased with BEHR paint because it is easy to spread, covers well and seems to hold up to rain and freezing temperatures during the past four months. The label also allows the paint to be used down to 35-40 degrees, lower than other brands of house paint. The Igloo color appears grey on the website, but its a bright white when applied to wood (see photo of top hive cover).
