Electric Oil Igniter for Carlin 100 Burners

A:  You have indicated that you have a burner that is branded Beckett. Beckett does not make boilers they only make burners. The boiler would have been made by a boiler manufacturer using a Beckett burner. This igniter is manufactured by Beckett but is designed to fit a Carlin brand burner. Carlin is a different manufacturer of burners. Therefore, I am confident that this igniter built to work on a Carlin brand burner will not work on a Beckett burner. As to what igniter you need, I cannot be certain as I do not know what model burner you have. Unfortunately, the color does not indicate the model and the only way to be certain as to what igniter you need would be to know the burner model. Boilers must have a rating plate that gives the name of the manufacturer, boiler model number and serial number. Perhaps with that information you could contact the manufacturer to get further information such as a n manual for your boiler. I can tell you that the most common Beckett residential burners such as the Beckett AFG burners utilize the RW Beckett 5177U igniter. But I cannot confirm that is what you need without knowing the burner model.

A:  That is a very logical question to ask. Unfortunately it cannot be answered with the information provided. New Yorker is a brand produced by U.S. Boiler. I am quite certain they produce that boiler with burners manufactured by the three major burner manufactures; Beckett, Carlin and Riello. Thus the choice of igniter would be based on the burner not the boiler.

A:  This igniter is designed to fit on Carlin Burners with the 100 series base. Unfortunately I can not find any information about the 98FRD you reference. Are you sure its not a 99FRD?

A:  No. You can not. The model you are indicating is for a Wayne Brand burner and this is for a Carlin burner. They will not line up.
