bought as a gift, liked it so much I bought one for myself
I love the color display , especially the "floating" moon phase display, the long range of the outdoor sensor .. yes, the display dims if viewed below eye level (if your eye is lower than the display) but I have it on a desk, and the other one on a shelf and it's fine .. oh, and something I just found out, pressing the top light button to AUTO makes it change from dim to bright/bright to dim at a certain time of day depending on the season (-: very good unit , especially for the price

Good in concept terrible in execution
Although I like the company and they try to do their best, and I was very pleased with their other great products, this one fails to hit the mark. The screen becomes quickly invisible unless you are standing on top of it. With a black screen, it is useless. Would suggest a better back-lighting system, but unfortunately, at this price point, that may not be possible. But then again, why would I need something I cannot see?

We apologize that your unit is experiencing this issue but we would be happy to assist! Please make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand in the unit as well as the included power adapter, then perform the following reset. ***This will clear all data on the display.***
1. Remove all power, AC adapter and/or batteries from the display unit for a full five minutes.
2. Press and hold down the reset button, located in the battery compartment, for 20 seconds if applicable.
3. Plug back into AC power and/or insert recommended batteries.
4. Press and hold down the reset button for an additional 20 seconds if applicable.
5. Verify that the unit has powered on and once a connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.

The display is in blue and yellow color.
A weather station icon shows the outside conditions. The high or low temps and humidity are easy to see. It has a barometric pressure also. Its quiet and has a big display.

I love this unit. After dealing with the nightmare of a GBLife, I finally gave up and returned it. I was wary of trying another one, but after reading the reviews, I bought this Acurite weather station and I love it. It was a cinch to set up.(less than 5 mins) and the time automatically set. It is displaying both the indoor and outdoor temp accurately. It has a learning curve to become more accurate and the weather station took 24 hours to be perfectly accurate. The learning light goes out once the unit has adjusted. I am so glad I got this weather station.

Best display of weather information.
This station has it all: in and out of temperatures and humidity with 24 hour high and low. Future weather icon with barometric pressure with moon display. Purchased 4 units many years ago, 5 units as Christmas gifts and have 12 units on standby for future gifts. Best weather display available.

This is my third AcuRite, same model. Same Sensor fails problem every time. End up purchasing the entire product because it is not worth buying just the Sensor including shipping. Yes, it is slightly cheaper buying just the Sensor but there is still the question that this is the real problem. I do like the product so I take the added expense and buy everything.

AcuRite 02027A1 Color Weather Forecaster with Moon Phase
The weather forecaster works very well. We currently have this exact model which we purchased several years ago for our primary home and bought the current one to use at our second home. We have been very happy with the quality and performance of our original weather forecaster and look forward to many years of good service from the one just purchased.

Moon not displaying properly.
The moon should be fully lit as today is the full moon but the far left last section is not lit. I suspect that section will never light.
