Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Yes, the Yakima store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am-noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to order your kit.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. Purchase gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you.
