Store #4701 is my Favorite store in Tacoma and easiest store for me to travel to.
I went in on July 30th. 2023 for a few plants , I have a southwestern themed bedroom so I wanted a cactus plant , I already have 2 so I wanted a different variety and I found a really cool one that has a little bit of a red tint on the lobes , I know they paint some of the Aloe plants but the cactus is naturally tinted red/orange and it’s really healthy. I also picked up a planter containing 3 Dragon Plants with the really dark stripes on the leaves and they’re all nice straight clones …. Also healthy and strong.

              An opportunity to say thanks
              So... mom is 96 now and in pretty good health, but on her 95th birthday she ran into a bunch of trouble and developed pulmonary edema. I thought we were going to lose her, but she's a fighter. In the following months, she had to remain on oxygen and was hooked up nonstop to an O2 generator. This machine has an internal battery that gives it 45 minutes of life once it's been unplugged from either the wall or the car. 45 minutes is nothing and we'd find her almost out of battery anywhere we went. Having already been in the Ryobi 40v system after buying a 40v lawn mower (which I love) I went to Home Depot and got a Ryobi 40v to AC converter. Then I bungee corded the converter to the top of mom's oxygen generator. The thing would run for 3 hours and not even put a dent in the 40v battery, all the while maintaining its 45 minute reserve because it thought it had been plugged into the wall that whole time. This allowed us to go to doctors appointments, out to eat, and to parks without worrying about killing the battery. Thanks for giving my mom her life back, Ryobi. She's better now and off the O2 generator for the most part, but since then I have pick up your four 40v battery power station. If you want someone to rep for you, hit me up because I am truly passionate about your products, and with good reason.

                Birdie Ken and Greg are extremely helpful with their product knowledge and how friendly they are as well! I shop at this Home Depot just because of the great experience i get with them.

                    I went to purchase wall heater and they treat you like thieves. They walk to the front and you are not allowed to touch it until it is paid for. The cashier I had the unfortunate encounter with also tried to give my product to another customer and proceeded to tell me I could not touch the product I was paying for until the transaction was complete. I do not recommend this store at all.

                          Lilliauna's Showed Me Her Guns!
                          Jessica J. my cashier at the customer service desk because Pro Desk was closed, she was professional and patient. Thifanie K. with her sarcasm kept me entertained while Jessica tried to get a hold of my client. Society sucks now a days and my sarcasm is dry, so I liked the sarcasm. Lilliauna was there also.....forgot was she was saying but it worked. I think I had a smile from ear to ear, because this was a day before I was going to turn 40! What an early birthday present for me! 3 beautiful young ladies giving an old guy all their attention.....and to top it off.....it was in a hardware store! I almost said screw my project and just stayed there. Lilliauna followed me out to my SUV, probably to entertain herself and watch me cut all of my composite boards in the parking lot because Home Depot won't do it which leads me to believe that majority of employees don't know how to read a tape measure to cut precisely. Guess this time around which was 3 times in a few days that I just did what I had to do in the parking lot. Couple of friendly, I guess the friendly security guard, and Lilliauna and her guns watched on excitedly. I don't neither of them noticed and caught the fact that I was cutting the wrong way for the board to fall off. I should had been standing on the other side cutting so the right side falls off correctly so you don't get kick back. No kick back happened here though.....got complete control over my tools.....adjust blade depth and just know what you doing is Pro Tip. Anyways, so my board are cut and shows over. I start to load the cut boards. A few pieces left and I joked to Lilliauna, "I thought you came out where to help me?" BAM!!!!! Lilliauna gave me this looked and shot her beautiful smile and pulled out her guns! One by one she halfway pulled her sleeves up, grabbed some gloves out of her apron, one by one protected her hands that MIGHT be as soft as mine.....doubt it, stacked the remaining few cut boards on top of each other, picked them up and walked 2 parking spaces to my SUV and handed me the stack so I could load 'em in my whip! I then thanked Lilliauna and her guns for helping me out!

                            Best Experience So Far!
                            Security officer, next time you follow, I will take time out of my way and act very suspicious and take you all around the store.....even to register. I've done it at South Center. Customer service did her job but nothing spectacular. I even try to small talk to see if she had any RELATIONSHIP EXTENSION skills. African American gentleman who was outside busy with carts and assisting customers, I would say one of the best I've seen. Even thigh I declined his help, I made an effort to thank him a second time. Ken thank you for helping Birdie keeping my wood safe! , That doesn't really sound right but thanks Ken! Nick, great job with leading by example. If more supervisors, managers, and Superior leaders could do this, I would only imagine the employees would follow. Finally Birdie,..... Compassionate, friendly, and I see she might possess some relationship extension skills you're very good trait and customer service, I would know only from experience promoting my own Taco Bell, to become in a very successful bartender, and now I guess running my own business not having to advertise not once. I appreciate you going out of your way not once but twice for me. My best advice for you Birdie,..... One customer at a time and I'm pretty sure you will win their hearts. By far this has been the best experience at Home Depot location so far. So good that I would just do it again this morning. Same process, customer service return desk, hopefully we won't deal with the security officer or loss prevention, shop, and then the Pro Desk. Maybe I will see Birdie again. Maybe Nick doing some fine coaching or leading by example. Hope nothing changes only for the better!

                                Cheerful, helpful employees who'll help new DIY'ers
                                A very diverse group of people in age and ability cheerfully helping customers on a busy holiday weekend. One employee was struggling with moving something and another employee quickly stepped up to assist without being asked, on her way to break. I asked a bunch of newbie DIYer questions in the paint department and they were kind and helpful. I'm an introvert who hates crowds and I would 10/10 go here again, maybe earlier when they open. If you're parking a larger vehicle like an SUV you might want to stick to the edges of the lot or you'll have to shimmy out your sunroof; the place is very popular with people driving enormous contractor vans and trucks with trailers, and the parking spaces are Nissan sized.

                                  The Lumber Employee wins award for Worst Attitude Ever
                                  I went into the store needing a few pieces of wood and some cuts done- the gentlemen I asked for assistance said that only “B” can cut wood - well this person was not friendly from the moment she arrived; it seems like she would rather do anything in the world except cut wood; she was rude; nasty personality, refused to cut wood, was charging people for free scraps or telling them they can’t have them - she charges for cuts of wood.. I have always shopped at Home Depot and now I never will again. The people at Lowe’s were friendly. They were not like this nasty Home Depot employee who was having a very bad day and obviously hates her job with a passion.. Lowe’s prices were cheaper. Lowe’s employees were actually friendly Lowe’s employees were willing to cut wood for me Lowe’s lets people take scraps for free So I guess thanks for being so horrible I had to go out of my way to get what I wanted at good prices while being treated kindly!

                                      I asked the employees at the self check out to put in my veterans discount and was very rudely informed that they would no longer do that and that I would have to join their program if I wanted to get that anymore. This exact store has had my credit card info stolen before. There is no way in hell I'm going to give them all of my identity information.

                                        Great service they even made a copy of things I needed that they did not do.
                                        The contractors desk help me with putting my order together and made copy for me with pricing. Very grateful to the staff.

                                          Management needs to be checked
                                          I was turned down when I asked if this place would price match my febreeze air fresheners store manager quickly told me “no, only price match Lowes”. Before walking completely out, I looked on the Home Depot website about the real price match rule and it turned out I was correct, it stated “Any retail store.” I walked back in politely showed the Home Depot web info and the manager Vincia rolled her eyes and rudely “said just give him the price match then.” This is bad and lazy customer service.

                                            I walked in the store as a very dissatisfied Home Depot customer. I had had horrible shopping experiences at two other Home Depots earlier in the day. I walked in to the Tacoma store ( 4701) expecting the same frustrating experience. Boy was I wrong! Gatana turned my attitude around with her high level of good humor and expert customer service! Thank you Gatana!

                                              Tacoma Home Depot had everything that I needed and it was exactly where I expected to find it. I left with the product that I was looking for (both were in stock) and I was able to find with ease. All associates were helpful, polite, and attentive.

                                                        Horrible Customer Service and Cheap Products
                                                        We purchased 2 doors and installation service in April and are still waiting for this nightmare experience to be over. The first installation was scheduled in June and upon delivery the patio door was cracked and had to be returned. For weeks I called to get an update and was left on hold, hung up on, transferred to multiple departments, and promised a call-back. Horrible customer service from staff and management! Then I receive an email the ordered was cancelled. I finally speak to a manager and was told the order was "accidentally cancelled" and had to be reordered. The installation was finally scheduled for last week and during installation the screen door was found to be ripped and pieces are missing. The only positive experience from this has been the installation service.

                                                            Rude cashier
                                                            I have the military/veterans discount set up on our home depot account. I generated the qr code for the cashier. He scanned it then asked for proof of militaryID. we had that verified through the home.depot app so we did not.have a military ID with us. Except an old benefits card. The cashier told my husband that he is not a real.veteran. that is the most offensive thing I have ever heard someone say to a veteran. If I see this employee there when I go there from now on I will not shop there. I will go the the Nprth Tacoma home depot Instead
