How does truck rental work?
Stop by the La Mirada Rental Center to see which trucks or vans you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, flatbed truck, or pickup truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You may also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is available at your store.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before you select a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
