How do I rent a tool or Load N' Go truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also read our truck rental or tool rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
