Good store but training of clerks seems a bit lacking
Just bought a frig today and the salesperson miscalculated the 10% discount. My fault I was distracted and did not review the receipt until back at the office.

Bad to the bone
Avoid this store, folks. Cashier with an attitude, associates never to be found, and in general bad management. Use any of the other many options you have around the area, mainly the local and family-owned.

I love the staff here
Every time I'm in this store, everyone is incredibly friendly and personable. They make home projects always seem a little less overwhelming, which I personally appreciate because DIY projects don't come naturally for me, and I need all the help I can get. The Home Depot Staff here makes me feel like I can do it!

Smart saleswoman
I went to Home Depot to buy a refrigerator. The salesperson I got was terrific. Very smart and knowledgeable about the options. She juggled several customers at one time beautifully and we all went away happy.

This is the worst Home Depot in the Bay Area
Constantly understaffed. Self checkout registers don't work. Items frequently stocked incorrectly on the shelves. Don't shop here unless you have to.

Some employees need to have more awareness regarding customers
3 employees talking to each other at a checkout computer, I say "excuse me"...no response!
Fortunately an employee who just finished with a customer was responsive to me.

Great Customer service
There are two individuals who went above and beyond at the Emeryville Home Depot.
look for Sansone and Aikem. They are true professionals that will really help you and make you feel like you want to shop at this store. very helpful and knowledgable.

Tee in the plant nursery department is fantastic and knowledgeable!
Tee was very helpful with finding the perfect plant pot for my overgrown monstera! Very knowledgeable and professional!

Frustrating lines, minimal staff
It's the Home Depot. Reasonably well stocked. Minimal staff - you'll likely get a better answer from another shopper.
Always long checkout lines as most of the automated checkouts are closed and only 1 or 2 regular registers are open.

Jamie in the Return dept was excellent
Jamie in the Returns dept was very, very efficient. She was engaging and knew exactly what items I was returning. I loved her attitude and friendliness.
She was super helpful. She moved the big shopping truck out of the way so others could move freely in the return area. I will ask for her assistance again.

Great customer
Great customer service by both the cashiers at self serve on 07/09/23 at 3:10pm. They were friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Carl P helped me out to my car and helped me load the items in to the car

Will never shop @ the HomeDepot in Emeryville
The Cashier doesnot know what she is doing.
Also the CustomerService people were very very Rude
I felt they were discriminating fot the eay I was dressed.

Gardening Help A+
Gardening help I received from Frank and Dee was above and beyond. I am very pleased w my purchase, could not be happier. I will be back for more gardening needs all summer long. I hope to see them there to at least say hello

One of the more reliable HDs in the area
The shelves are usually accurately marked, and stocked. The lumber department is much better organized and signage is usually good, compared to some other local HDs. Folks who work here seem professional and have been helpful.

Patrice is Awesome
My review is really only for Patrice in the Windows & Blinds department. My wife and I were in-store to finalize some details about blinds for our new home and she came to us to see if she could help. I said that I thought we were good because we'd worked everything out already but she had heard our conversation and informed us of an in-store promotion we'd qualify for that we didn't even know about. She took significant time and attention to enter every detail correctly and checked it twice and once with us. In the end she saved us 20% that we were not expecting. We are doing everything ourselves and every bit of savings helps! Thank you Patrice!!!

It shouldn't ever be this hard to give you my money!!!
I looked on the "Official " Home Depot app for a portable air conditioning unit.
Upon seeing that there were plenty "in the store" (i.e. 40+ units) I armed myself with my 12 month interest free financing coupon
and drove to the Emeryville CA store. I had also intended to buy a small stack of plastic totes at the same time.
I arrive at the store and do a quick look around to see if I can find what I am looking for all the while constulting the app to see if it had a location for me
to find like most products do. Alas there was no location listed.. So naturally my next best bet was to find an associate to help me.
After asking literally 6 different associates who then also consulted to the app on their devices only to find the item, "In the Store" but not in any location.
Each associate told me to go ask someone else, when asked who to ask, they relpied anyone else becasue they didn't know my answer.
There was a gentleman that did really try to help me find one, and he found the "plumbing guy" who's department it fell under.
The Plumbing guy was an older (50s/60s) gentleman of SouthEast Asian Decent who told me "it's not on the floor yet! Doesn't matter what the app says! Go away!"
I was flabbergasted by such discourteousness that I left the store resolved to just buy it through the app and waste my time coming back later.
I make the purchase through the app for my totes and AC unit only to within 5 minutes get a message saying the AC unit had been cancelled from the order.
At this point I am pretty frustrated as I am just trying to buy something that is supposed to be in stock only to get jerked
around.
I get the message a day later that my totes are ready for pickup and I go to the store a day or two later.
The woman at the Customer Service "Debbie" saw that I had an AC unit in my order. She listened patiently as I gave her the short story of all of the above.
Debbie took my phone number down and said she would have a look for me to see
if there were any of the AC units I wanted in the back near the end of her shift.
Sure enough she called a little later that day to tell me the AC unit was at the desk waiting for me.
I am thankful for Debbie and you should be too, because of the 6 other associates I asked for help only one really tried and not a single one
knew what was going on outside of their app on the device. I find this experience disappointing overall that it took so much,
just to give you my money for an AC unit. That combined with super long lines because you decided to do away with having more than 2-4 self checkouts open at once.
I likely won't return. To willingly expose myself to that level of ignorance of one's job, frustration, discourtesy, and general waste of time, seems foolish.
In closing ya'll need to take bettercare of your workers so they care about thier jobs and DO them.
And give Debbie a raise because it is people like her that keep you guys in business.
