Always overworked, unfriendly employees
I go into this home depot #4714 tonight to buy a toilet seat. I get ignored when I request help from one employee working on a computer at a nearby station. 2 walk passed me in the main interior aisle & make eye contact as I ask for help & keep going. This isn't even the 'problem'. I find the toilet seats, I make my selection, I go to the checkout line. 1-4 are in use, I notice the lady at 5 is printing her receipt. I go to 5. My scan gun on the upc of the box fails once. Then twice. Then I'm grabbed by my wrist, the gun is taken from me by the employee at the checkout stand & he physically moves me back. I am just stunned... He cannot get it to scan either. I am just standing there, he's not really talking. Then he has to enter the upc manually, then I get to be chewed out for not using 1-4 because he was closing this side. This is prompted by me saying if we're going to be this 'involved' & physical in a checkout why not just open a lane & check people out. My turn to make the payment for the $46.81 toilet seat. The chip error's once from insertion... This immediately prompts the man to take the credit card from me, bending it in the process, jamming it home to fail the chip error twice & then succeed on the thrice attempt. He hands it back to me & is seemingly astonished that I'm appalled. I'm so serious here I grew up in an Earnhardt/Stewart fandom family. I've been shopping at home depot forever, sure I've had bad experiences before in my life. I'm 32 years old. Never have I ever. Ever. Ever. Been literally grabbed, moved away by an employee, had their back to me, nearly refuse to talk, then take my payment method from me, then choose to begin chewing me out, all while I'm just staring shocked & being told off essentially for not going into the line from 1-4 & how should I have known any of them closing one side etc... Ok then he bends my credit card, hands it back to me, & looks ASTONISHED that I'm upset & demanding he return the toilet seat after that interaction. My receipt says 'Kyle'. I don't know if that's who it was, but this receipt for this toilet seat that gets returned. Pull the video. Watch the man grab me by the wrist & move me away when the scan gun fails. Watch him take the payment method away, it's bent you can literally see the photo attached. Absolutely never have I ever in my entire life. Been treated anything like that by a 'customer service employee. I cannot believe that is remotely legal what happened tonight. Look into this event. I am literally from a tony stewart fandom family & am probably never going to return to home depot for the rest of my life because of this singular event. Good day.

    The manager Hope is amazing
    Hope helped some with when I was in the store to buy a Lawn Tractor. She not only helped me but was able to multi task and help other customers and employees as well all why giving me an above and beyond experience. Most the time when an employee ask me if I need help I just tell theme no because they usually end up wasting my time and and have no clue what I'm looking for or know much about the products that they sale. Hope was having to tell other employees what else things where on and where to find them. She was also checking out other customers and filling orders why I was on the phone with their customer support helping with with the credit app. It was suck a relief to see someone that knew what they were doing and good at their job. It’s such a rare thing these days.

          Quick to help
          Though a little under staffed in my opinion, it's nice to find those few that are quick to see that some of us just need a little help. Props to Richard and Valeria at the Spokane Valley Home Depot.

            Tool rental doesnt answer there phones
            When i call spokane valley tool rental store they have continuously hung up on me for past year.....when i call liberty lake and also the north store they seem to answer there phones and are never rude

              Shoutout Matt (Plumbing) and Cynthia (Cashier)
              With the negative temperatures we had a pipe burst in a bathroom around 7:30PM. We ran to home depot after cleaning everything up. When we walked in we were greeted by Cynthia, who directed us to the right area to gather the parts we needed. We still looked confused so she sent Matt from Plumbing our way to help. Thank you Cynthia!! Matt was extremely helpful and informative. He gathered all the parts we needed after we described our issue and the parts that broke. Matt walked us through the steps of replacing the parts. Mind you this is 30 minutes before closing. We did not feel rushed at all. Matt was truly our savior that night and we left feeling confident in the work we needed to do when we got home. We were able to replace the parts with no issue, thanks to Matt.

                Although everybody at this particular, Home Depot are good employees, today, Debbie went out of her way to make us feel special. Five stars for Debbie!

                    Please make it easier for me to spend my money at your store(#4714)
                    I like my experience with the Home Depot app and shopping at my local Home Depot to greatly improve For example when the app says that you have something in store it'd be nice if you did and it'd be even nicer if I didn't have to get the runaround. Also on the next question "Would I recommend this to a friend" I would but with ☢️warnings☢️

                        Return issue
                        I bought pvc piping and asked if I could get them cut and return them if they didn’t work out for a project my husband and I were working on and was told I could return them even if they were cut. Well the project didn’t work out and my husband tried to return the pipes two different times to speak to different managers and they brushed us off and said they are unable to return them. So I was told one thing my husband was told the other and now I have piping I can’t use that was quite expensive to say the least. Super frustrated and have never had an issue with Home Depot before. I did not feel valued as a customer one bit.

                            I don't typically have any issues finding things in this store. It's usual a walk in and grab what I need. Lines are small most of the time. Employees are usually pretty helpful. All in all; a good location.

                                Best HD store ever! From the store manager down to the newest employee with three days on the job, all of the managers, associates are eager to help, interested in what I was looking for and always gave me options. Can't say enough good things about this store including the manager who seems to know where every product is in the store without looking at anything first. Impressive!

                                      You can walk into home depot and not know what you're in need of, and the people are knowledgeable. What's great is, IF they do not know, they will find out for you! That element is key to their great customer service.

                                        Having recently moved from another location of 12+ years, all your employees seem well trained in giving a positive customer experience. They smiled and greeted us, were very gracious to give aid and store was amply staffed. Our prior experience at another Home Depot where they were understaffed, so sales people avoided availablity for customers.

                                            Customer service was pretty non existent. I have better help at Ace and Miller hardware. Out of what I needed and no help on what I possible could have bought if they would have tried to help. .

                                                    Fantastic Service!
                                                    Annie from the pro rental department was so helpful! She walked me around and helped me find the item I needed. She is a very good sales person I came in for one item and got a lot more. I told her I am running a business and she had me sign up so I can be a pro! I like the idea of having my own parking spot. I shop at the north side home depot but this store has my business now. Annie is such a pleasure to interact with fantastic 5 star service!

                                                          Always get great service here overall. Most employees are very helpful (younger ones sometimes are helpful but you can tell they really don't care). This is a busy store that usually has everything we need and chose this store over other box hardware stores, hands down.

                                                            Manager Jason is Extremely Rude
                                                            I purchased a snow blower online and it arrived damaged, so I immediately purchased another one, knowing I wouldn't have any problems returning the damaged one. When I tried to return the damaged one, I didn't know there was only 30 days to return gas powered merchandise (however I didn't put gas or oil into it) and I was 10 days over. Linda would only offer me a store credit, and refused to put it back onto my Home Depot credit card (which I know she could have easily done) then the manager Jason came over, also refused to put it back on my Home Depot card, but because I argued with him, and reminded him I should have 12 month returns with my Home Depot card he got angry and told Linda to "VOID the transaction!" And then told me "now you're not getting anything, well except the snow blower you came in with" then handed me a paper with Toro's warranty information on it and walked off. That's the Reader's Digest version, the full version is much worse, and Jason has no business being in a position of authority or dealing with customers... I'll be sending my more detailed letter to corporate.
