Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
