Can I rent a flatbed truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go moving van, flatbed truck, or pickup truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You can also read our truck rental page to see if what you need is available at your local store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
